Beginning in India three generations ago as private jewelers, the Shah family crafted bespoke pieces for the affluent industrialists of the time. Its continuous success led to the establishment of an office in Manhattan’s diamond district in 1977.
Since 1977, Gem International has proudly supplied the industry with the finest quality diamonds.We specialize in ideal cut melee and single stones certified by GIA in sizes up to 10cts. We also continue to manufacture fine bespoke pieces and custom creations which are part of our DNA.
Gem International’s current President, Parag Shah, grew up working during summer vacations at the office with his father and learning the fundamentals of the diamond and jewelry industry. After receiving his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Finance from New York University in 1990, Parag joined the growing family business. After five years of polishing and trading diamonds, Parag saw an increasing demand for high-end, custom jewelry, and Gem International returned to its origins and made the transition back into jewelry manufacturing.
